Today is our third day in London, and we experienced so many lovely things, that it’s really hard to describe all in a few sentences. Yesterday we started with a lovely breakfast at Granger’s (Notting Hill), which is a really good place to start the day. Everything was fresh and tasted lovely. It’s really stunning, how friendly the people are over here.
After breakfast we headed to Portobello Market at Portobello Rd., near to where we are staying. Though it was very crowded, I didn’t like it there so much, also the market is very interesting when it comes to hipster supply. After that we headed to Oxford Street, via Kensington Park and Hyde Park. In Jermyn Street I bought some shirts at Charles Tyrwhitt.
After that we went to Flat Iron. They serve steak (180g) for 10£, which is really a good price. The Day endet with some wine and a British TV-Series called “The Only Way is Essex”. After watching two episodes of that series I feel quite intelligent!
Today we were in East-London. Mainly we visited the Flower-Market, had a really awesome burger at Meat Mission and bought a meerkat.
We are in London, as you can see in the pictures. I’m not going to write much, because I’m really tired. The Day was really nice. We staying with Natalia. Her flat is near Portobello-Road, which means the neighborhood here is really lovely. We had a really good coffee, went to Tate Modern and enjoyed that the weather was at least mostly sunny.
This is now my sixth attempt to write this posting. It turns out that it is much more complicated to write a post in order to support somebody else than for yourself.
So what is this stuff here all about? Ok, actually it’s obvious that it’s about „ROCK“ music!
This posting is about five young men on their mission to bring ROCK back to our lives.
In times of Dubstep, auto-tuned Electro-po(o)p and power-indie-super-stars, this is nothing less but a task for real heroes. These heroes gave themselves the name MAKE MY DAY.
Some months ago they made first attempts with their free EP (Link). I really loved it. It was free and it was good. Really good. Their music is as good as Tequila-Body-Shots with Kate Upton or being Hank Moody for at least one week. Experiencing them live in concert is like Morgan Freeman narrating your life.
In order to Rock hard, they are going to release their super-powers on their first album, “Party Like A Grizzly”
And you guys can support MAKE MY DAY and their mission. All you need is a Pay-Pal-Account or a credit card. This gives you the power to support MAKE MY DAY recording their ALBUM (which is indeed a bloody expensive thing to do).
Just follow this link to the crowdfunding plattform and do something good to the music world:
By the way: All pictures those truly awesome band pictures sou see above are made by LILLI. Aren’t they cool????
In the middle of the last year my wife and I decided, that it would be a good thing to spent the end the year with my wifes family in Minsk. In the review this was a really good decision. It was my first real NYE-Celebration outside of Germany. I really enjoyed this delicious and also a little booze enriched way of celebrating the turn of the year. Besides the NYE we also took a trip to the datscha of my wifes uncle and visited a food-market. Actually we havebeen busy for three days. don’t you think.
For all those, who didn’t know: I spent my NYE (including some days before and after) in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. This is because a part oft my wife family lives there. I did a lot of pictures with my camera during my stay, an there is going to be a post with all of that pictures. Yesterday, on the day of our return is sat in the living room with my wives granny. She is a wonderful old lady, and during our stay we had the opportunity to stay at her place. My wife really loves her grandmother, so it was a good thing that we could spend NYE with her an the rest of the family.
My dear friends, I would like to introduce you to Andrej. He is the son of my wife’s two really good friends from moscow. What should I say. He’s really a cool, clever kid and I had really a lot of fun, e.g. while we shot crossbow in our livingroom or playing GT5 on my PS3 (this guy is three yrs. old an drives the mercedes in the game already like a pro!).
Einfach so. Danke Michael! Ich habe jetzt eine gescheite Permalinkstruktur.
Yes, my dear. This is Frankfurt. This is the place, where the good old Ludwig Van stands in the shade of the skyline. This is the city, where bamboo can be seen through a hole in the wall. This is the paradise, where people search for bottles in a dumpster. This is the urban zoo, where you can even see dragons. This is the town, where we stand at the crossroad. And this is jungle, where even people from China build a garden. Wonderful, isn’t it?
